Winter enchants Lake Tegernsee and its valleys and turns them into a picture postcard winter wonderland setting. Kilometres of well-maintained cross-country ski trails through quiet, snow-covered valleys and up into the heights leave nothing to be desired. A network of more than 100 km of branching cross-country ski trails, a variety of different routes paired with the charming landscape, offer a fantastic experience for cross-country skiing and skating. The villages of Rottach-Egern, Gmund, Kreuth and Bad Wiessee offer trails from easy to difficult and the most beautiful panoramas of the villages, the Bavarian Pre-Alps and Lake Tegernsee.

Tobogganing on the Wallberg at Lake Tegernsee
Only a few minutes away from Egerner Höfe, there is a natural toboggan run down the Wallberg in Rottach-Egern. With a length of approx. 6.5 km, the natural toboggan run is one of the longest toboggans runs in Germany. The Wallbergbahn takes you up to the start of the toboggan run at an altitude of 1,600 metres. During the approx. 30-minute, challenging trail over the Wallbergmoosalm, you will descend around 825 metres in altitude. This fun toboggan run ends at the valley station of the Wallbergbahn in Rottach-Egern. With the Tegernsee Card you receive discounts once a day for a ride up and down the mountain with the mountain railway or on your tobogganing ticket. For more information and to find out which lifts and cable cars are open, visit the Wallbergbahn website.

Skiing and fun on the slopes at Lake Tegernsee
Blue skies, powder snow, perfectly prepared slopes and on top of it all the gorgeous views. We think these are the ingredients for a perfect skiing holiday. The Tegernsee Valley and the surrounding mountains are the largest connected ski area in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. With numerous blue, red and black slopes, there is a run down the hills for every level of skiing ability and skiing style. Families can take a relaxed approach to skiing or sledging at the Kirchberg lift. Advanced and professional skiers are drawn to the more challenging Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area. It can be reached in ten minutes from Rottach-Egern. In the Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area, in addition to 9 pistes and lifts around the Stümpfling and Roßkopf mountains, you can enjoy floodlit night skiing, a fun park and a varied gastronomic offer. With a total of 5 Hirschberg lifts, the small, family-friendly ski area on the Hirschberg is also only about 10 minutes by car from the Parkhotel Egerner Höfe.
Would you like to improve your skills and learn from the ski pros? In group ski courses or private lessons, you can develop both your alpine and Nordic skills during your skiing holiday with us.
